Dr Shrabani Chakraborty

MBBS, MRCPCH

Shrabani graduated from RGKMC, Kolkata, India. She moved to UK after graduation to be trained in Paediatrics, completed her training in General Paediatrics followed by specialised training in respiratory paediatrics mostly in South of England and London. She worked as a Consultant in Acute Paediatrics at RACH, Brighton and as Paediatric Respiratory Consultant at Kings College Hospital, London and currently working at popular Royal London Hospital.

Shrabani has been leading and supporting multiple international multicenter research projects including a number of collaborative projects between USA, UK, India and Bangladesh and presented in almost all major International Respiratory Conferences both in Europe and USA. Shrabani has been involved in undergraduate teaching for long (OSCE examiner at BSMS and Kings College, London), deanery interview in paediatrics (London) and post graduate teaching for MRCPCH at Kings College and Queen Mary’s University, London. She will lead the strategic guidance for the MRCPCH clinical examination in MedicToUK.

Dr Geetha Fonseka

MBBS, MD (Sri Lanka), DCH, MRCPCH (UK)

Geetha, a consultant paediatrician with special interest in paediatric A&E and critical care, currently working at Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, UK. After completing Paediatric postgraduate training at the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka she came to the UK for further training in Paediatrics.

She loves teaching and has been heavily involved with both undergraduate and postgraduate education throughout her career. As Brighton & Sussex Medical school is closely affiliated to Trust she is involved in all aspects of medical student teaching and exams. She is an examiner at the DCH exam held in the UK and currently takes part in question setting and exam board held by the Royal College of Paediatricians. She also took part in the question setting group sessions for MRCPCH, UK. At Children’s Hospital in Brighton, she looks after overseas trainees by providing them with career guidance, exam preparation and annual appraisals which is a mandatory requirement from the GMC for all doctors in the UK. Appraisal process is not familiar to most overseas doctors.

She is currently a clinical as well as an educational supervisor for foundation doctors and paediatric trainees. She is keen to help to improve overseas trainees to become successful at Paediatric Postgraduate exams in the UK.

She is our senior career advisor and a teacher for the young paediatricians who access help via the MedicToUK team to work and settle down in the UK.

Dr Arindam Das

MBBS, DCH , MRCPCH (UK)

Arindam, a consultant paediatrician with special interest in paediatric gastroenterology and allergy in Broomfield Hospital, UK is the lead for critical care and 7-day NHS program for his trust. After completion of MBBS and DCH from Kolkata, he completed his CCT from the East of England. Arindam was awarded with many distinctions from the early stage of his career, like young investigator award by European gastro society, trainee triumph board etc. to name a few. 

Arindam is passionate about teaching. He was involved, during his paediatric training period in developing the teaching curriculum for East of England deanery. He is actively involved in various teaching roles in RCPCH and Anglia Ruskin University like presenting educational webinars, faculty for resuscitation training etc. 

Dr. Das is keen to help trainees especially overseas to perform well in MRCPCH and to provide effective career advice for smooth progression in UK. He was in the question setting group for MRCPCH,UK and is an experienced organizer for the MRCPCH clinical exam for which he received a certificate of appreciation from Royal college. For the last few years Arindam had been an expert reviewer for RCPCH UK. He will be lead career advisor for paediatrics in the MedicToUK team.

Dr Sharmistha Maity

MBBS MRCPCH (UK) MRCPCH (Ireland)

Sharmistha is a Neonatal consultant currently working at Grange University Hospital, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in UK. She believes in a holistic approach in practice of Medicine and found that approach in Neonatology. Having over 15 years’ experience in Neonates in UK the subject has evolved over time. She became a neonatal consultant taking the difficult and more arduous route to CESR due to varying circumstances in personal and professional life. Her current interests are in developmental care as a part of family integrated care and reducing retinopathy of prematurity. She is also part of the Multidisciplinary team for Neurodevelopment follow up and lead for Neonatal Mortality review in the Health Board.

Dr Angana Bhattacharya

MBBS, DCH, MRCPCH (UK), FRCPCH (UK)

Angana is a Consultant Paediatrician and Named Doctor for Looked After Children in her present position. She did her MBBS and DCH from India following which she came to UK. She had done her MRCPCH from Royal College, did her postgraduate run through training in London deanery and started her consultant career. She obtained FRCPCH in 2016. Currently she is working at Lancaster Teaching Hospital NHS trust.

After spending over 15 years in Acute Paediatrics, she had the opportunity to train herself in Community, Development and Social aspects of Paediatrics. She has had extensive experience as Named Doctor for Safeguarding in her previous position. Safeguarding and taking care of Looked After Children are unique aspects of Paediatrics care in UK. She is passionate about training the next generation of doctors including the teaching of medical students as well as being an OSCE examiner. She has taken part in question writing groups for University Exams in the UK. She is actively involved in Audit; Quality improvement projects and has many international presentations to her credit. She takes a keen interest in volunteering activities and is a Mentor for Aspire for Her, a non-profit designed to keep 18–25-year old women in the workforce. She is an ardent believer in parent awareness and communication and runs her own social media channel Paediatrics4Parents.

Dr Nadia Audi

MBBS , MRCPCH

Nadia completed her paediatric training in Lebanon at University of Balamand in 2012, worked as a general paediatric specialist in Riyadh, KSA for 4 years during which completed MRCPCH examinations, currently working as a senior specialist registrar in Paediatrics in East of England deanery. Dr Vamshidhar Gudichuttu

MBBS , DCH , MRCPCH

Vamsidhar did his MBBS, DCH from NTR UHS, Andra Pradesh, India. Later worked in National institute in India, Kanchi kamakoti childs trust hospital,Chennai and few prestigious private hospitals in India including Apollo, Lotus, Mythri and Vanaja hospitals. Later moved to Dubai and worked in the famous Lifeline Hospital for about 7 years. Then for the purpose of career progression moved to UK, completed MRCPCH, worked as a clinical fellow at tier 2 level in Mid – Essex hospital for 3 years and currently pursuing his structured paediatric training as a senior speciality registrar in East of England Deanery. He is bringing his general paediatrics and paediatric gastroenterology interest to the team alongside diverse working experience in different countries.

Dr. Muna Dahabreh

MBBS (Jordan), HERMES, MRCPCH (UK)

​​Muna was a paediatric respiratory consultant in Jordan and recently moved to UK as a senior paediatric respiratory fellow as part of the career progression taking the route through CESR. She obtained the medical degree from the University of Jordan in Amman -Jordan. Finished the paediatric training at Southampton after which she returned to Jordan to participate in establishing the 1St specialised paediatric hospital (Queen Rania al Abdullah hospital for children) in Jordan. Muna also obtained the paediatric HERMES, European respiratory diploma and acted as a mentor to many candidates for that exam.

Muna was part of the university teaching team for undergraduates and established the training programme for paediatric trainees for the preparation for the MRCPCH exams in Jordan with the help of RCPCH. She is always eager to teach and provide guidance for undergraduates and post graduate trainees and happy to be involved with overseas doctors to prepare for training and further career progression.

Dr Abrar Ahmed

MBBS , MRCPCH (UK)

​Abrar graduated from Quaid-e-Azam Medical college, Bahawalpur, Pakistan. After completing his foundation years in his alma mater, he joined the prestigious Services hospital, Lahore. He served in SKMCH & RC, a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in the heart of Pakistan, Lahore, for 3 years.

Then he moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2009 after clearing his Licensing exams for Health authority Abudhabi and Ministry of health, Sharjah. He worked in Dubai and UAE for 9 years followed by a move to the United Kingdom, after completing his MRCPCH in UAE. He is currently working as a senior clinical fellow in paediatrics at Bedford Hospital ,UK . With a diverse experience of working in paediatric oncology, neonatology and general paediatrics in 3 different countries he will be able support candidates from different countries preparing for exams.
